KITTERY TRADING POST JUNE 23-24 FISHING RODEO
Kittery Trading Post will be hosting a fun and family oriented Fishing Rodeo, June 23-24. The contest is to benefit Stripers Forever. Surf, pier and paddle anglers will win fishing kayaks and related gear along with trophy-certificates. Stripers Forever is the internet based organization seeking to make Striped Bass a no-sale or gamefish along the entire east coast.
Fishing will be in a 50 mile radius around Kittery Trading Post. Open and Fly divisions will compete for the longest Striper-Bluefish combo and all will compete for the largest # of species caught. The Striper Roundup division will give prizes for the largest number of weekly striper catch photos posted on participating websites* between now and June 24th, (this online contest will continue into September). Winners will receive their prizes at the awards ceremony on June 24, along with a bean supper provided at Kittery Trading Post.
Additional prizes will be given out by raffle to registered anglers.
Top lady angler and junior angler awards will also be given. Family members may register at no cost, after the first adult member is registered ($40 entry fee includes capt bag, contest supplies, raffle entry, and bean supper). All divisions are catch-photo-release.
Prizes include fishing kayaks from Ocean, Wilderness Systems and Liquidlogic, gear from Bending Branches, X Tools, MTI Adventurewear, Scotty, Surf to Summit, Malone, TALS, Riptide, Mirrolure and others, as well as artwork and services.
