Fish Passage in Maine Rivers
 |
 |
Stripers Forever Maine Memembers - we try not to stray far from advocating for striped bass game fish, but occasionally a related issue especially important to the health of the striped bass fishery comes to our attention. I'm sure that many of our Maine members will want to know about these legislative efforts to gain fish passage on all Maine dams. We have pasted in an e-mail that SF received asking for help, and explaining how to give it. More
information cab be obtained on the Friends of Merrymeeting Bay website www.friendsofmerrymeetingbay.org.

Subject: Migratory Fish Alert-LD 1528-PLEASE FORWARD to your concerned friends.
"...the single best thing we could do for the food pyramids that begin in our rivers, estuaries and bays."
These words, above and below, from Kerry Hardy, an ally of ours in the effort to restore access to and from spawning and nursery habitat for diadromous fish species in the Gulf of Maine. Please consider our rivers analogous to arteries, the migratory fish, our blood, and take a few minutes to contact your legislators. Comments to the Joint Committee Chairs may be accepted until Work Session at 1pm on Monday May 21.
To leave a phone message for a legislator call the House or Senate Clerk's office and ask them to leave the message on the desk of your legislator.
Thank you!
