Stripers Forever MA - just a quick note of congratulations to our MA subscribers. MA was the second state behind NJ to hit 1,000 subscribers, but it is now the first state to hit 2,000! Perhaps, thanks to our growing support in the Commonwealth, when the bass return one spring soon they will do so without a price on their heads.
One commercial striper fishing fan recently made the comment on a chatroom that 2,000 was a very small percentage of the 500,000 plus striped bass anglers in MA. That is true, though it is probably more than belong to almost any other MA saltwater recreational fishing organization, including some that have been around for a long time. It does go to show, though, how we have just started to tap our potential. Imagine the striped bass fishery up and down the East Coast managed for conservation based recreational fishing values, rather than subjected to the maximum kill rates that commercial fishing constantly pushes for.
