Farewell to a staunch supporter
Stripers Forever and the recreational fishing community lost a good friend with the recent untimely death of I.Tatnall Starr, 2nd. “Tat” Starr was one of our very first members and certainly was one of the most enthusiastic. A resident of the Philadelphia area, Tat spent every moment he could get away with chasing stripers, often in the waters off Nantucket.
He never hesitated to promote the cause of game fish status for striped bass to anyone who would listen and he persevered with some who didn’t want to listen.  Tat always included news of Stripers Forever’s initiatives in the Philadelphia Angler’s Club newsletter that he authored.  His family saw to it that his favorite striper fishing rod and reel was auctioned at the club for our benefit, and we received over $1,000.00 from this thoughtful and generous act.
Tat was a man who was willing to step up and fight for causes he believed in. We’re fortunate we had him on our side and we’ll do our very best to see that his goal, our goal, is realized.
Farewell and tight lines, Tat.
