During the 1980s there were a few years when huge striped bass were found in numbers around Rhode Island's Block Island into the first week of December.  A lucky group of surfcasters got in on this bonanza, and many fish over 50 pounds were taken casting plugs from the beach.  Dennis Zambrotta's recent book chronicles this incredible event.  Veteran anglers from the era donated to Stripers Forever a small collection of the vintage plugs that caused all the damage.  In addition to Dennis's excellent work, the auction contains books by two other Rhode Island striper experts.  Check it out!
