Massachusetts Director of the Division of Marine Fisheries, Paul J. Diodati, authored a white paper in January of 2005 entitled “Management of the Massachusetts Commercial Striped Bass Fishery.” This document describes and defends the Division’s attitudes and policies regarding the commercial bass fishery. We received a copy of the DMF paper last month and have delivered our response/rebuttal to Governor Romney, with copies to other state officials .It will come as no surprise that we strongly disagree with the overall policy and with much of the author’s rhetoric. The DMF paper, a brief summary of Stripers Forever's position, our full rebuttal, and a
list of Massachusetts policy makers are all attached.
