the future for striped bass consumers
Stripers Forever  Members  – here is a good look at the  future for striped bass consumers: http://www.pennlive.com/business/patriotnews/index.ssf?/base/business/116890800787880.xml&coll=1.
In this article a Pennsylvania striped bass aquaculturist talks about his production of striped bass growing from 50,000 pounds in 1989 to 350,000 pounds last year.  The sky is the limit for this kind of production, and we don't have to destroy the quality of the far more socially and economically valuable recreational fishery to provide these fish for consumers.  In reality, the commercial fishery provides no net value to society, since even if it were not damaging to the striper population – which it is – it only deprives many personal use anglers of their catch and allows the exact same fish to be killed and sold instead by a commercial fisherman.

To the more than 500 new members who came in during the last member-get-a-member campaign, thank you.  There will be many opportunities in the future to help us shape the future direction of striped bass management.  We welcome your willingness to help.
