The document is a brief summary of the high points of remarks made by the speakers at our Striped Bass Game Fish 2006 Symposium this past May The summary is followed by a couple of key audience questions and then the full text of the speakers' remarks. The speakers bring up topics that need to be the subject of public debate. For too long, the 3,000,000 recreational anglers who pursue striped bass have seen their sport suffer so that a small group of commercial fishermen, who have a very disproportionate and negative impact on the fishery, will benefit. These experts make some compelling arguments and unveil some appropriate precedents, both modern and historical, for striped bass game fish.
